We have an exciting opportunity to join the Finance team in the role of Payments Assistant on a fixed term basis of up to 12 months, based at our Sunderland Head Office. This fast-paced role involves processing high volumes of invoices to allow for timely and effective payments to suppliers, demonstrable previous experience in a financial environment is essential.

In the role of Payments Assistant, you will manage day-to-day enquiries, ensuring an uninterrupted supply from our suppliers to provide business continuity. You will be responsible for completing monthly supplier statement reconciliations ensuring the accuracy of the data and to resolve any issues efficiently and effectively.

The role is subject to a basic DBS paid for by Gentoo.

Input/scan purchase invoices to a finance system.
Invoice processing to ensure efficient and prompt payment.
Supplier statement reconciliations.
Payment processing.
Supplier account maintenance.

What we are looking for:

Demonstratable experience working in a financial environment, with process knowledge of purchase ledger is essential.

You will also have experience in adhering to compliance when following financial processes and communicating with internal and external customers.

Previous experience gained in a housing association is desirable, however not essential.
