About the role:

Are you working towards, or have you recently achieved, a recognised honours degree in Building Surveying? Do you want to work for an organisation that puts people at the heart of their business? This is an exciting time to join our team in the role of Graduate Building Surveyor and provides you with the opportunity to learn and develop your knowledge and skillset within a well-established and forward-thinking Housing Association.

Working within the Asset Sustainability team, you will carry out effective Building Surveying support in the delivery of the Asset Sustainability Strategy. You will assist on the identification of new initiatives to introduce renewable energy technologies and carbon reduction measures that will contribute to achieving the Group’s target of achieving EPC C by 2030 and net zero targets. This will include working collaboratively across the department providing technical advice on fabric improvements and validation of survey data. This key role will assist in the preparation and delivery of energy efficiency improvement works or one-off projects assisting with the production and completion of all relevant details and documents to ensure works are planned/delivered to the relevant quality standards.

If successful, you will join an initial 24-month graduate programme, with the possibility of a permanent role becoming available upon successful completion of the programme.

What we are looking for:

You will be working towards or recently achieved a recognised honours degree in Building Surveying, with demonstrable knowledge and awareness of property construction, and understanding of measures aimed at energy efficiency, sustainability, and renewable energy.

You will have the ability to undertake and manage diagnostic surveys of property defects to identify solutions, define and quantify the extent of the issue identified, and develop specifications for remedial works.

It is important that you; possess strong numerical skills, are highly organised, and are self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will be confident with effective communication and negotiation skills and have a good level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office). Experience of using AutoCAD or similar software design systems is also essential.

In order to meet the travel requirements of the post you will need to hold a full UK driving licence.
