We have a new and exciting opportunity to join the Property Maintenance team in the role of Electrician working within the Electrical Team.

Gentoo are a Social Landlord with just under 29,000 houses and this role will require you to undertake all areas of electrical work to ensure that the domestic and commercial electrical infrastructure within these premises is maintained to a satisfactory standard.

The role will require you to carry out a variation of electrical day to day repairs, testing, maintenance and installation work to domestic and non-domestic properties as required by the Gentoo Group.
Within these works you will be required to undertake tasks such as: domestic and commercial electrical installation condition reporting, complete minor elements of multi-skilling associated with the electrical work e.g. small filling/patching to decor, undertake minor plumbing work associated with the electrical work e.g. shower replacements, be competent in the use of handheld IT systems (Hand Held Units) complete all necessary electronic certification as required by the Group in line with relevant British Standards and Regulatory bodies applicable to the work carried out, liaise with Line Managers regarding the status of any and all work, liaise and interface with other trades as required.

The Group operate an Emergency Out of Hours Service, which you may be required to work on a rota basis as and when required.
Within the role you you will be required to work with minimum supervision both independently and as part of a wider team.

What we are looking for:

The Group is looking for someone who has the ability to carry out electrical installations, repairs, maintenance and testing as required by the Group and in accordance with relevant specifications, standards and Regulatory bodies.
The successful candidate must have knowledge and understanding of relevant Health & Safety Regulations, great customer care skills, be able to demonstrate experience of the Electrical Contracting industry working on electrical installations in domestic and non-domestic properties.
It is a requirement for the successful candidate to be conversant and competent to carry out works in accordance with the current Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations/BS7671 plus all ongoing revisions thereto, served a recognised (Indentured) Electrical apprenticeship with City & Guilds 2361 part 1 & 2 or equivalent Or NVQ Level 3 and hold a full clean UK Driving License. It is also desirable to hold City and Guilds 2391 or equivalent – Inspection and Testing Certificate.
