To support this journey, we are currently recruiting for the newly created role of Business Intelligence (BI) Manager, who will join the newly formed Business Improvement & Change function, a team that is central to delivering valuable business change. In the role of BI Manager at Gentoo, you will play a pivotal part in building our BI service, you will partner with the business to increase our data maturity and drive our BI initiatives. You will lead a team of Data Analysts and will be responsible for leading and inspiring the development and growth of the function as well as promoting the value of BI across the group.

The role is based at our Doxford Park, Sunderland head office. This newly created role would suit a data professional who is passionate about modernising data and reporting solutions. You will have experience in delivering rich, user-centred reports via platforms such as Power BI or Qlik and enjoy the end-to-end process of report development. You will be a critical partner to all functions across the group and lend your skills and expertise to deliver actionable insight and play a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision-making. You should enjoy the process of data analysis and have the ability to solve problems, often with a degree of ambiguity. You will enjoy the challenges of digital transformation and be comfortable delivering at pace.

What we are looking for:

Experience working as a BI Manager or Senior BI role in a highly regulated industry.
Strong leadership skills, the ability to guide, coach, influence and lead a team through periods of growth and development.
Demonstrated commitment to BI quality; and dedication to delivering accurate, timely and reliable reports.
Understanding of data architecture and infrastructure (data warehousing, data pipelines, ETL) and experience working with IT teams to help design and deliver the right BI solutions.
Strong SQL, Excel, Power BI & DAX. Hands-on experience in designing and developing end-user reports.
Experience in supporting regulatory reporting; and understanding the criticality of industry-related submissions.
Strong experience in data governance; leading initiatives to increase data maturity.
Experience in stakeholder management including the ability to cultivate strong working relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
